CTG Senior Business Analyst in Rochester, Minnesota

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Business Analyst opening for our client in Rochester, MN.

Location: Rochester, MN

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

The Senior Business Analyst provides business analysis services at a local, institutional, or enterprise level. This role involves understanding and considering both the business and technical needs of all customers to deliver quality products or processes that meet business objectives. The analyst examines costs, benefits, and risks associated with proposed investments/projects and recommends alternative solutions throughout the business life cycle. Collaboration with stakeholders and users is essential to synthesize, articulate, and document business objectives and requirements by applying systematic and analytical thinking methodologies. The role also requires a proficient understanding of business strategy and planning principles, contributing to project charters, plans, work assignments, and managing project complexity.

Duties:

  • Conduct a comprehensive review and update of existing documentation to ensure alignment with current operations.

  • Identify areas in existing documentation that require revision or clarification through thorough examination.

  • Collaborate with team members to gather input and ensure updated documentation reflects their understanding of processes and workflows.

  • Modify existing documents to align with current practices and standards.

  • Develop new workflows or update existing ones to enhance efficiency and streamline processes.

  • Create new documentation to address gaps and provide additional information as needed.

  • Perform data analysis, define and document business requirements, and support the translation to functional specifications early in the development cycle.

  • Assist project leaders in coordinating the deployment of deliverables.

  • Maintain effective correspondence and in-person communication with stakeholders.

  • Build credibility and rapport with others to understand their needs and provide conflict resolution and problem-solving.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Word, or specialized documentation software.

  • Ability to create and analyze process diagrams (e.g., flowcharts, UML).

  • Clear and concise communication skills to convey complex information.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and input gathering.

  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in documentation.

  • Effective time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple tasks.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, or a health/science-related field.

  • Progressive knowledge and demonstrated use of business analysis methodologies and tools.

  • Experience in data analysis and defining/documenting business requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
