Nexus On Call Youth Support Professional in Rochester, Minnesota

Description The Direct Support Professional is responsible for establishing, implementing and reinforcing the therapeutic treatment plan of clients by providing guidance, assistance, and direction to clients in their daily living activities and scheduled therapeutic activities. We are currently hiring on-call individuals for all three of our shifts! 1st shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm 2nd shift: 3:00pm to 11:30pm. 3rd shift: 11:00pm to 7:30am Responsibilities: Provide mentorship and supervision of client daily activities and behavior according to established guidelines and procedures. Ensures clients adhere to daily schedules and activities established for the program, including therapy sessions, external appointments, etc. Serves as a mentor and role model by demonstrating compassion and understanding for feelings, opinions and experiences of others; communicates and interacts in a manner that is honest, positive, respectful and professional Demonstrates acceptance and respectfulness toward diversity concerning commonalities and differences such as gender, race, age, culture, ethnicity, class, religion, disability and gender identity. Remains aware and cognizant of individual client phases, privileges, restrictions and adapts interactions accordingly. Engages in therapeutic interventions with clients within treatment parameters, while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Implements, documents and communicates treatment plan interventions as needed. Reports to supervisor, any signs and symptoms potentially requiring intervention or referral (suicidal or violent tendencies, self-mutilation, eating disorders, etc.). Complies with all documentation standards including, but not limited to, critical incident reporting. Facilitates or co-facilitates educational groups that support treatment plans and expectations. Engages in counseling sessions with clients and develops behavioral plans as needed. Ensures compliance with all safety policies and procedures involving living areas, buildings, campus grounds and while attending off-campus activities. Maintains appropriate boundaries in all interaction and contact with clients. Complies with Nexus policies involving privacy and confidentiality for clients and their families. Works effectively with clients' families/support networks to reinforce positive family partnerships; Follows established protocols in the use of family engagement and involvement techniques. Receives individuals in mental health crisis entering clinic setting. Qualifications: Qualified candidates are required to meet the Mental Health Practitioner criteria as defined in MN Statutes section 245.462, subdivision 17 located at Bachelor's Degree preferred (Human Services) Minimum 21 years of age. Valid Driver's License required. Must meet state regulating agency and Corporate driving requirements. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
