The Director of Security Technology will play a critical role in enabling Mayo Clinic Security to support this endeavor.

The Director of Security Technology will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of Mayo Clinic’s security technology strategy. This role demands a visionary leader with a deep understanding of advanced security technologies, systems architecture, and risk management frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in implementing developing technology strategies that support security risk management needs and business priorities, integrating technology to enhance value to the organization, evaluating emerging technologies to enhance security risk management and managing multi-disciplinary teams. We are seeking an experienced, committed but humble, solution-oriented candidate who is comfortable leading teams in a highly complex environment.

As a member of Mayo Clinic Security’s leadership team, the incumbent will collaborate with Mayo Clinic leaders and business partners to develop and manage Security’s systems and technology. The incumbent will, along with other duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive security technology strategy that aligns with Mayo Clinic’s business objectives and culture.

  • In collaboration with internal partners and security integrators, design, deploy and maintain security systems and technologies across all regions.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure security initiatives are integrated into the overall business strategy.

  • Oversee the evaluation, selection, implementation and management of security technologies to achieve operational and security risk management objectives.

  • In partnership with Healthcare Technology Management and the Office of Information Security, identify and assess potential security risks associated with security systems and technologies and ensure the security technology architecture is robust, scalable, and capable of defending against emerging cyber threats.

  • Develop and maintain a service-based culture among departmental staff, contractors and partners.

Qualifications

Master’s degree with eight years of progressively responsible security supervisory/management experience or bachelor’s degree with ten years of progressively responsible security supervisory/management experience or associate's degree with 12 years of progressively responsible security supervisory experience or HS/GED with 14 years of progressively responsible security supervisory experience.

Strong understanding of sound business and strategic planning practices. Knowledge and understanding of business processes within a healthcare institution. Demonstrates the ability to build an effective, cohesive and collaborative team. Effective in leading, developing, motivating, and coaching a diverse team of professionals.

Compensation Detail

$134,888 - $195,624/ year. Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

Typically, Monday - Friday normal business hours but may require off-hours/weekends to support operational needs. This position consists of both remote and onsite work on the Rochester, MN campus. This role will require some travel to other Mayo Clinic sites.
