FANUC America Corporation (FAC) is currently searching for aSenior Project Managerto provide the industry’s best project management services to automotive and tier 1 customers, including robots used in body shop and general assembly, with a focus on customer satisfaction, quality products and efficient processes to increase FAC’s total robot sales and overall profitability. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Represent FAC for all commitments and approvals associated with execution of each assigned project.

  • Accountable for all decisions and performance associated with each assigned project.

  • Single point of contact for internal and external customers for each assigned project.

  • Develop schedule for engineering, procurement, build, delivery and installation of each assigned project.

  • Establish list of deliverables and all required engineering activities for each assigned project.

  • Identify key milestones (internally and with customer) to insure on-time delivery, and monitor progress continuously.

  • Request and coordinate efforts of project team resources from engineering to build to installation phases.

  • Provide regular and frequent communication/status updates to project team members, FAC management, and external customers (frequency appropriate for stage of execution).

  • Identify performance issues to appropriate manager and drive for resolution/improvement.

  • Make regular appearances at customer sites (frequency appropriate for stage of execution).

  • Create and review robot order tracking sheet working closely with the materials management team.

  • Create and maintain open issues list.

  • Review and approve the “As Sold” budget based upon the proposal grid and the customer’s purchase orders.

  • Maintain the project budget and insure that costs are re-forecasted monthly to establish a monthly updated project file margin.

  • Strive for continuous cost down of all project related expenses.

  • Establish and maintain the revenue schedule for the project monthly.

  • Establish and maintain the invoicing schedule for the project continuously throughout the project.

  • Insure all Invoice Requests are submitted monthly and that customer is invoiced per the terms/conditions of the contract; support finance if needed by following up with the customer to insure all invoices are paid per the terms and conditions of the contract.

  • Document all Customer Change Requests and payment for authorized changes.

  • Identify process improvements that lead to lower cost of goods (material or labor), lower operating expenses, shorter lead times, higher quality, and more satisfied customers.

  • Review proposals for assigned customers to assure accurate estimate of COGS and to identify potential additional requirements.

  • Participate in BSG monthly execution group meeting to identify possible execution / delivery issues

  • Support continuous training of PM assistants and utilize PM assistants for greater execution efficiency.

    Ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills and education:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Master degree preferred; or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Minimum of ten years automation or application experience.

  • Minimum seven years project/program management experience preferred.

  • Experience with Oracle (ERP system) and MS Office.

  • Experience in robotics preferred.

  • Knowledge of Body Shop products, processes and applications.

  • Proven ability to establish and achieve project objectives.

  • Proven ability to effectively lead and manage project personnel and support groups.

  • Interpersonal skills for internal and external resource management (i.e., conflict negotiations).
