FANUC America Corporation (FAC) is currently searching for aManager-Engineeringto manage the product and application activity for Materials Joining Group (arc welding, plasma cutting, laser process, etc.) customers of the robotics division. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Develop the overall product strategy and direction for the group’s core application targets, translate this strategy into specific product requirements and obtain approval for the development of the required products.

  • Assure that the defined products are implemented on time and complete; once they meet the requirements of their specific markets, execute a roll out plan to support these products after their introduction.

  • Effectively resolve all product and application problems that fall into the target markets and manage the implementation of systems to improve our ability to more effectively propose and execute the core products.

  • Support our sales, marketing and execution organizations along with primary distribution partners to assure that our revenue and gross profit objectives are met or exceeded as well as making sure that the group operating expense budget is not exceeded.

  • Recruit talented engineers, direct and motivate the Materials Joining Segment staff and as required make personnel or organization changes to assure that the group is of the highest quality possible.

  • Direct technical involvement in trade show and trade show cells focusing on software options, machine integration, and network control interfaces.

    Ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills and education:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management or related field; Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Minimum ten years of automation experience.

  • Minimum ten years of management/supervision experience with demonstrated experience managing a product or systems engineering group and strong leadership / direction setting skills.

  • Experience in project management, and/or project related responsibilities.

  • Thorough understanding of the Materials Joining robotics business.

  • Proven written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and internal employees to understand needs and provide solutions.

  • Strong decision making skills based upon fact finding and appropriate analysis.
