Job Description SummaryTests complex components, products or systems under development for conformity to specifications and proper functioning; documents and analyzes results, and retests as appropriate. Responsible for performing calibration and instrumentation of test systems and controls. Also responsible for providing the instrumentation of test vehicle and data acquisition process and validation of resulting data.  Responsible for providing strain gage installation and calibration.  Work duties require knowledge of electrical/electronic equipment and systems requiring a high degree of accuracy, consistency and discipline.  Servo hydraulic background is a plus.  General Windows computer operating system literacy is required for use and navigation of different systems. Helps identify, develop, and implement improvements in standard testing processes, techniques and equipment for the facility to continually improve component, product, vehicle, and system testing. Works with other departments to identify product and/or manufacturing process problems based on test results, and helps develop appropriate solutions to remedy these problems.

Job Description Responsibilities:

Validates product capability and reliability by conducting performance and environmental tests Properly assembles and disassembles components pre- and post-test. Proficient in fabrication including use of welders and machine shop equipment Operation, calibration, and repair of Servo Hydraulic Controllers. Calibration of analog and digital controllers and instruments. Tuning of electrical and hydraulic control loops. Ability to apply and calibrate strain gages Ability to design, build, and calibrate custom transducers Knowledge of electronics and ability to solder Repair and build of wiring harnesses/cables. Set up and teardown of mechanical fixturing for force calibrations Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions and irregularities Contribute to engineering and organization success by readily adapting to change All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education *High School Diploma or GED. Associate degree in mechanical or electrical field preferred *Knowledge of automotive fundamentals and functions *Advanced mechanical skills for working with mechanical set ups. *Ability to read electrical/electronic schematics. *Ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic equipment and systems *Computer Literacy / Familiar with Microsoft Office Applications. *Analytical abilities to solve complex multi failure mode equipment issues. *Proficient oral and written communication skills.
