FANUC America Corporation R&D Program Manager in Rochester Hills, Michigan

Supporting our Research and Development Electrical Products group as our new Program Manager, you will ultimately be responsible for coordinating electrical product developments to support FANUC’s global paint robot, collaborative robot, and industrial robot product lines. You will collaborate with our R&D Mechanical and Software groups in the planning of development projects, identifying roadblocks, and implementing solutions. Primary responsibilities will include

  • Work collaboratively with mechanical, software, documentation, and approvals R&D groups to complete interdisciplinary robotic developments on schedule

  • Support Joint Developments between FANUC America R&D Electrical and FANUC R&D groups in Japan to create electrical robot products for a worldwide market

  • Define technical requirements and schedule for new product features and current product support working with FAC Segments and RDEE staff

  • Attend regular conference calls and in-person meetings as needed with FANUC R&D groups in Japan

  • Provide multi project management / leadership

  • Creating and maintaining development schedules

  • Regular tracking and reporting of development schedules and status to R&D management

  • Cross-functional collaboration with people of varying job responsibilities and backgrounds

  • Some travel to our various company and client sites (about 10%) Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience

  • 5+ years of experience managing complex projects

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments of varying degrees of difficulty simultaneously

  • Strong problem-solving ability

  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently in a fast-paced business environment Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

  • Project management training and/or certification

  • Cost estimating/management skills

  • Experience with ERP system, Oracle
