Champion a first article inspection process to achieve quality group KPI measures.
Conduct part inspection through a receiving inspection process.
Conduct full layout inspection of parts submitted through a first article inspection process.
Create CMM programs and reports for complex parts.
Develop and modify CMM measurement programs based on engineering drawings and specifications.
Verify that measurement programs consistently meet quality control standards and tolerances by reviewing CMM reports for accurate tolerancing and positional references.
Create efficient measurement strategies that optimize accuracy while reducing cycle times.
Process material nonconformance reports and determine disposition of material according to defined procedures.
Collaborate across teams to problem solve incidents and resolve programming, manufacturing issues, or discrepancies in measurement results.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of measurement programs and procedures
Collect and control inspection documentation and report measurement data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of programming tasks.
Support the gauge calibration process to ensure tools are within their calibration period.
Stay updated on innovative technologies, tools, and techniques in metrology to enhance programming practices. Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Associates degree or Certifications in CMM Programming, Quality or Metrology preferred.
Minimum of five years’ CMM Programming; hands on in quality assurance, proficient with all aspects of inspection including GD&T and CMM programming in a related industry preferred.
Prior machinist/machine tool builder or assembler experience.
Proficient programming with Modus, Polwork and Verisurf CMM software preferred.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Certificate preferred.
Experience leading/interfacing with teams and multiple department collaboration.
Strong knowledge of CMM operation and programming, including both contact and non-contact types.
Ability to create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
Knowledge of calibration processes to ensure measuring equipment accuracy.
Attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy in programming and measurement.
Problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot programming issues.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and train others.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
