Wolters Kluwer Lead Project Manager in Riverwoods, Illinois

Responsible for planning and managing processes and resources to execute projects or project components milestones from inception through implementation. Interprets technical requirements, identifies, and communicates project scope and ensures program milestones and objectives are met. Facilitates effective communication between the business and technical and non-technical functions. Coordinates project schedules, monitors budget and assigns tasks. Keeps management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results.

The role reports into the Associate Director of Program Management and is critical to the delivery of Legal Markets Group (LMG) initiatives.

Responsible for all aspects of the implementation of assigned projects.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Manages program level projects as assigned to optimize product delivery for the business

  • Develops comprehensive project plans that outline goals, objectives, timelines, resources, and deliverables.

  • Leads and motivates project teams, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring collaboration and communication among team members.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, keeping them informed about project progress, addressing concerns, and managing expectations.

  • Identifies potential risks and develops strategies to mitigate them

  • Ensures that project deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to requirements, and implements corrective actions as needed.

  • Assesses and manages changes to project scope, schedule, and resources, ensuring that changes are properly documented, approved, and implemented.

  • Generates regular status reports, documenting project milestones, decisions, and issues, and maintainingaccurate project records for future reference.

  • Supports management and facilitationthe agile release train program and processes and assist the teams in delivering value

  • Supports the Associate Director in setting goals and priorities for each Mission and Product Increment. Ensures Mission and Product Increment (PI) backlogs are properly prioritized.

  • Engages withtechnology teamssuch asDXG to manage dependencies and enablers that support the delivery of initiatives. Ensures alignment across DXG teams throughout Missions and Product Increments.

Other Duties

Lead special projects, work with partnered organizations, conduct research, and perform other duties as required

Job Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Computer Science, MBA, or JD preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of eight years of experience with B2B product management/product development including SaaS Platforms. Product management experience in the legal software or related industry (e.g. financial)is a plus.

  • Minimum two years of experience in the application of Agile software development, Lean product and/or Pragmatic Institute methodologies. An understanding of contextual inquiry and design thinking is also helpful.

  • Track record delivering value and results in a B2B environment

  • Working understanding of technology and concepts applicable to SaaS workflow and information intensive applications such as search, databases, data-lakes, cloud, analytics, artificial intelligence, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), RDF or other modern metadata standards, and APIs.

  • Project Management and requirements management experience, as well as experience in program governance and reporting

  • Experience understanding user needs and market trends that are successfully translated into product and project plans

  • Working within a cross-functional organization that serves multiple market segments and sales channels.

  • Customer facing experience in support of product sales and commercial rollout of product features.

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

  • Fluent in agile software development processes

  • Strong JIRA skill set, including efficient navigation of the interface, proficient issue management, reporting and analytics, familiarity with Agile methodologies, and the ability to provide training and support to team members.

  • Proficient in Confluence, including content creation and formatting, real-time collaboration, effective organization and navigation, integration with JIRA.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan and complete work with tight deadlines and budgets; ability to work in an atmosphere of multiple projects and shifting priorities

  • Balance of business acumen and technical understanding

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable an attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Collaborative and effective decision maker.

  • Intellectual curiosity, creative problem solver, with “can-do” attitude. Willing to thoughtfully challenge status quo and rethink process across functional areas
