Quality Systems Engineer

*$28.00 to $32.00 hourly DOE *

* Aerospace Experience is required *

 

Luxfer Superform operates from Riverside, California (USA). We specialize in Super Plastic Forming of Aluminum, Titanium and Magnesium alloys as a 1st Tier supplier to major OEM’s. Established in California since 1985, Superform serves Customers in all the major markets including Aerospace.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Systems Engineer’s responsible for ensuring that the Company’s quality, environmental and safety systems are documented and are in full compliance with customer and/or third-party accreditation requirements. Responsible for timely correction, as well as raising awareness of non-conformances within the Company’s systems and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as Management Representative for Superform’s AS9100/ISO14001 and ISO 45001 registration: primary focal for surveillance/recertification audits and subject matter expert

  • Lead compliance to AS9100 and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

  • Own and manage internal audits

  • Review/revise Quality Manual and relevant procedures in coordination with the Quality Manager as required to achieve company timeframes for internal/external compliance.

  • Rewrite/revise the existing QMS to a more comprehensive system that consolidates the existing procedures and flow charts

  • Responsible for maintaining the Quality and EH&S Manuals, and Procedures to ensure contents are appropriate for the business

  • Oversee effective implementation of the Quality, EH&S Management Systems throughout the company

  • Analyze current and future procedural needs of the business

  • Coordinate the review of Quality and EH&S procedures associated with company continual improvement initiatives

  • Serve as Lead Auditor for customer Quality and EH&S audits

  • Serve as resource for RCCA investigations as needed

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Individual will have understanding of Quality and EH&S Management Systems, specifically AS9100.  Will be able to develop, maintain and address Quality Procedures and ensure contents are appropriate for the business. Must be self-motivated individual who can interface well with fellow employees and take instructions as well as give them.  In addition to the requirements, this person shall have the ability of an auditor and be able to work to International Quality Standards.  Also, shall possess the following:

  • Certified Lead Auditor (nationally accredited certification body only) (Preferred, a   combination of education and experience will be considered)

  • ASQ certified QE

  • Management Representative experience

  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 standards and compliance

  • Demonstrated competence in several RCCA methodologies: 5-Why preferred

  • Proficient in Excel and Word

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in commercial/military aerospace industry (Preferred)

  • Experience in a metals manufacturing environment

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams within the framework of a virtual organization

  • Technical Degree (Preferred)
