Production Supervisor

This is a highly visible role and will require daily floor shop visibility. The expectation is this role will spend 80% of their time on the shop floor.
Luxfer Superform operates from Riverside, California (USA). We specialize in Superforming of Aluminum, Titanium and Magnesium alloys as a 1st Tier supplier to major OEM’s. Established since 1974 Superform serves Customers in all the major markets including Aerospace.
Position Purpose: This position will lead the production team to achieve the requirement production quantities, meeting customer schedules and requirements. This position supervises all the activities of up to 20 production personnel across all shifts and leads production team members in pursuit of improvements in safety, work allocation, visual management, standard operating procedures, updated work instructions, equipment control, continuous improvement, and quality control. The Production Supervisor sets clear, challenging, and measurable targets for the team and monitors and tracks progress to ensure successful adherence to those measures. The position will perform a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to the essential duties and responsibilities provided below. In performing these tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Main Responsibilities:
The main activities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee equipment problems in department and make sure repairs are completed in a timely manner through communication with maintenance team.
Coordinating movement of WIP around facility to meet customer delivery requirements.
Improve individual and team skills, workflow, processes, procedures, and equipment utilizing continuous improvement methods.
Reviewing daily productivity sheets consistently throughout each day to ensure standard time adherence and accuracy.
Attend interviews to support filling open production positions.
Support orientation and training of new hires to ensure competency in workforce.
Work with all Departments (Safety, HR, Sales, Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering) as required
Be a promoter of Safety 24/7, customer satisfaction & a willingness to promote and sustain continuous improvement
Daily Review of Visual Control Boards
Approve time for associates and maintain employee attendance, vacation, schedules, etc. data in tine keeping system (Kronos).
Maintain the department roster, employee cross-training matrix and complete employee reviews
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public is required.
Education and/or Experience:
Aerospace manufacturing experience is required.
Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable; and a minimum of 5 years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to keep the organization’s vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.
Proven ability to organize and prioritize a large number of tasks
Demonstrated leadership abilities to promote teamwork, delegation, individual responsibility, and positive employee morale.
Familiar with Lean Six Sigma principles, Continuous Improvement, and/or EHS initiatives.

Position will require that the employee become forklift certified

Additional Information:
$65,000 to 70,000 Annually DOE (depending on experience)
4/10 schedule. Monday through Thursday 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Overtime as operationally required on Friday’s
