The Environmental Coordinator will also serve as the Primary POC for spills generated within the site, as well as coordinating donations with local community charities. An Environmental Coordinator will also spearhead Sustainability initiatives to make the site more Eco Friendly. Internal job description

Function as Leader in Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) Team which sorts, identifies, designates and packages regulated waste from the production floor in a manner compliant with all applicable federal, state and local regulations. The Environmental Coordinator will also serve as the POC for spills generated within the site, as well as performing regulatory audits.

Key job responsibilities

• Serve as designated Environmental representative of assigned Amazon Air Site, coordinating and implementing all areas of Amazon’s Environmental Policies, as directed by Corporate and Site Environmental Manager.

• Influence behavior and inspire commitment on the part of all personnel in complying with Amazon Environmental standards and maintaining a safe and proactively sustainable work environment. Conduct training and coach associates on observed work habits in support of this effort.

• Support building’s efforts to ensure compliance with corporate EAP Program expectations and applicable Federal and State laws.

• Identify and inform management of compliance issues, environmental risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly and monthly audits.

• Maintain required paperwork documentation to comply with Amazon standards. Perform Weekly and Monthly Audits in compliance with EAP Standards

• Proactively mentor Associates who are interested in the Environmental Field to cultivate a thriving engagement experience.

• Serve as the POC for all spills generated onsite, assist with cleanup, and escalate to management as needed

A day in the life

Strong communication is key. Each day starts with attending Start Up, a review of the previous shift's EOS Report and a review of Chime/Slack Messages that may have come in. Then, it's off to the PAD to secure items needing processing! Each day has an assortment of floor and process audits, engagement with Ops and Support Partners and, as always, Working Safe, Having Fun and Making History!

About the team

Our Mission: To protect Amazon businesses and support the needs of our customers by proactively mitigating environmental regulatory risks and protecting the environment. KRIV's on site Team falls under the Field Operations Sub-Function. The Environmental Field Operations team is responsible for Environmental procedure and program execution and incident response at the sites as part of the Air EAP Field Operations Air EAP Field Operations.

Basic Qualifications

1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience

High school or equivalent

Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach

Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required

Preferred Qualifications

Experienced in emergency response and be able to maintain current First aid and CPR certificates.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $31,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $43,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
