Responsibilities
We are seeking aStudent Radiology Technologist (PRN),internally referred to as our X-ray Tech Student at Southern Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare in Riverdale, GA. Student Rad Techs will assist licensed technologists in performing diagnostic imaging procedures by positioning patients, operating equipment such as X-ray, and ensuring radiation safety. They help process and evaluate images using PACS while maintaining accurate medical documentation. Additionally, they provide patient care, collaborate with healthcare teams, and gain hands-on clinical experience to develop their technical skills for a future career in radiologic technology. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN as needed.

Employment Type: Per Diem (PRN/PD)
Hours: 8hr, 10hr, or 12hr options
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
Patient Positioning & Preparation: Properly position patients for X-rays and ensure their comfort and safety
Performing Imaging Procedures: assist in capturing high-quality diagnostic images under supervision using either X-ray equipment
Radiation Safety: follow As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles to minimize radiation exposure for patients and staff
Equipment Operation & Maintenance: learn to use and maintain radiographic machines and digital imaging systems, such as X-ray machines
Image Processing & Evaluation: assist in processing and reviewing images using PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: work alongside radiologists, nurses, and other medical staff to provide quality diagnostic imaging
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. 2. Currently attending an accredited health care educational program for radiologic technology. 3. Meet state requirements for exemption from licensing to operate x-ray equipment. 4. Completion of their first year curriculum requirements. 5. Current BCLS (AHA). 6. At least one year of clinical experience in the radiology technologist program required. 7. Proficient computer skills.
