The Engineering Technician is responsible for providing professional repair and maintenance services for Senspex products and services, encompassing thermal imaging and video camera systems, electro-mechanical switching mechanisms, video processing, and environmental sensing devices. This position involves supporting the assembly, installation, and testing of sensor components and systems, along with constructing, maintaining, and testing electrical systems and components. Using measuring and diagnostic tools, the technician tests and modifies electronic parts to ensure they meet established specifications. Additionally, the role entails reviewing system designs, collaborating with internal and external customers on technical projects, and assisting with hardware/software and network systems integration. Projects may span various technology domains, such as sensor networks, IoT, integrated electronic sensors, video surveillance systems, optics/optical sensors, access control, and perimeter detection products. The Engineering Technician engages directly with customers and team members to comprehend customer requirements, develop work plans, and fulfill contract obligations.

What you'll get to do as an Engineering Technician at Senspex:

  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, and develop system solutions; perform various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Perform fieldwork implementing sensor network solutions by setting up, configuring, and commissioning sensor networks and establishing connections on various electronic devices.
  • Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate camera and network systems, internet systems, or a segment of a network system; perform maintenance to ensure camera systems integrate with networks correctly with minimal interruption.
  • Install/program computer hardware or machine or instrumentation software in microprocessor-based systems.
  • Evaluate customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrated technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.

The qualifications we require:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Strong networking and field engineering background.
  • 1+ years' experience.
  • Fluent in the basics of Microsoft (MS) Office Tools.
  • Apply basic systems engineering principals to solve problems.
  • Create process-driven documentation, manage project requirements.
  • Equipment operation, towing, electrical, electronics and radio communications training are preferred.
  • Troubleshoot to determine Root Cause and apply Corrective Action.
  • Ability to travel, up to 50%, for site assessments, troubleshooting, installations, or any other requirement.
