Franklin Pierce University Graduate Assistant - Student Success Center, Accessibility Services in Rindge, New Hampshire
Job Description: The student will formally apply for the graduate assistantship and will be selected by staff associated with the Student Success Center. Working with Student Accessibilities Coordinator, the graduate student’s responsibilities include the following:
Assisting with scheduling accommodations testing for Franklin Pierce University students, both undergraduate and graduate students as needed. This includes monitoring the exams request email daily, communicating with student requesting accommodation and the associated faculty member(s), acquiring any testing materials, scheduling accommodations testing, and closing the loop by returning completed testing materials to faculty in a timely manner.
Maintaining complete and accurate records of accommodations testing
Proctoring accommodations testing, including reading of exams, tests, quizzes, as needed
Representing the SSC in a positive and professional manner
Assisting the Student Accessibility Coordinator as needed
The position covers the costs of the candidate’s preferred graduate program and offers a paid stipend. However, the candidate is responsible for room and board
Qualifications:
Undergraduate cumulative GPA above 2.5
Organized and self-motivated young professional seeking to build a career
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Bachelor’s Degree
Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with undergraduate students, faculty, and staff
Strong organizational skills
Supervision:
The graduate assistant will be supervised directly by the Student Accessibility Coordinator
Time Demands : While there is some flexibility with scheduling during the workweek, there may be a need for after-business hours work during high-volume accommodations testing periods e.g., midterms, final exams.
