Environmental Services Technician (EVS) - Day Shift

 

Position Summary:

Join the Franklin Pierce University's facilities team as an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) for our night shift. In this crucial role, you'll be part of a dynamic team responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment across various university buildings.

 

As an EVS Technician, you will be a key player in ensuring the well-being of our university community.  

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, restocking supplies for optimal hygiene.

  • Empty trash receptacles and manage proper disposal of waste.

  • Perform routine maintenance on custodial equipment to ensure efficient operation.

  • Uphold high standards in the use and care of equipment and supplies, contributing to workplace safety and environmental practices.

  • Maintain an inventory of supplies for custodial staff's day-to-day needs.

  • Secure and lock all designated areas after completing cleaning tasks.

  • Utilize scrubbing machines, vacuums, and extractors for thorough floor and carpet cleaning.

  • Respond promptly to emergencies during off-hours as an essential team member.  

    Typical Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm  

    Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.

  • Familiarity with Hazardous Materials procedures.

  • General cleaning experience, including knowledge of carpet and floor maintenance techniques and equipment.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).

    Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling, lifting objects up to 50 pounds.

  • Dexterity skills for various cleaning tasks, including bending, stooping, stretching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders.

  • Proficiency in typing and operating a computer and office equipment.

  • Work involves exposure to hazards, physical risks, and unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
