Tredegar Corporation Senior IT Systems Engineer - Hybrid Work Opportunity in Richmond, Virginia

Job Summary:

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for ensuring the security, availability, and efficient operation of the company’s network and telephony services, as well as the effective configuration, security, and maintenance of PC and telephony endpoints. This role involves managing over $1MM in spending, requires strong technical expertise in infrastructure management, and proficiency in ITIL service desk and change management processes. Additionally, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors to continuously improve service delivery and maintain a compliant control environment.

 

Responsibilities & Duties:

1 Compliance & Cybersecurity

  • Act as the SOX Control Owner for networking accounts, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

  • Identifying and fixing vulnerabilities within existing security systems 

  • Providing feedback to cybersecurity engineers to improve proposed or existing systems 

  • Staying up-to-date on the latest  information technology (IT) (https://www.coursera.org/articles/it-terms)  and cybersecurity developments 

    2 Vendor Management, Helpdesk Services and Networking Services

  • Vendor Oversight: Oversee the performance of external vendors providing helpdesk services and network monitoring, ensuring that critical business services are prioritized during incidents. Act as a “Customer Advocate” to maintain a positive user experience.

  • Helpdesk & Ticketing: Support the management of the ticketing system, analyze resulting metrics, and oversee processes for user onboarding, changes, and terminations, including hardware, software, and systems access management.

  • Network & Telephony Support: Provide Level 1 and 2 support for the day-to-day operation of the company's voice and data networks, including telecommunication troubleshooting, ensuring efficient problem resolution and uninterrupted service delivery.

    3 Project Support & Budget Management

  • Oversee vendor-provided network project support, including LAN-WAN administration, and perform adds, moves, and changes as necessary.

  • Manage and audit the budget for telecommunication services, working closely with building services for service changes or problem resolution.

  • Assist in the administration and management of ServiceNow, ensuring effective use of the platform for tracking projects, managing incidents, and facilitating change management processes.

    4 Central Point of Contact for IT Infrastructure

  • Act as the liaison between Global IT and vendors regarding networking hardware and software, and support other Tredegar divisions as needed.

  • Maintain up-to-date network documentation and support networking for special events such as plant openings, acquisitions, and Investor Relations’ activities .

    5 Policy & Procedure Development

  • Recommend and implement telecommunication policies, procedures, and standards, evaluating new products and technologies for their impact on existing systems.

    6 Contract & Vendor Relationship Management

  • Contribute to the development of project plans for new technology implementations, and assist in auditing contracts, SLAs, and invoices for communication services.

    Qualifications & Skills:  

    Required:

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in IT or a related field.

  • Certifications: ITILv3, PMP, or equivalent.

  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure management.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in network management, telephony, vendor management virtualization.

    Desirable:

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, CISM, or similar.

  • Experience in cloud infrastructure, networking, SOX, virtualization, or similar technologies.
