Principal Process Manager, Finance Tech

As a Process Manager in Finance Tech, you will support the Well Managed Operational Excellence team by providing professional risk judgment that enables Finance Tech and its partners to tackle major company challenges. In this role, not only will you lean into your analytical and problem solving skills by developing and deploying innovative solutions to mitigate risks to the company, but you will also grow your strategic and influencing skills as you create and implement risk strategies that enable Finance to continue to be well managed while improving efficiency and control effectiveness.

This individual will lead and engage in critical organization initiatives and projects and must be able to effectively communicate with Tech teams and influence partners across multiple functional areas, including multiple levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment are essential to succeeding in this role. The Process Manager will drive and motivate others in delivering flawless execution of process improvement projects and reporting requirements. Knowledge of how to navigate regulatory requirements, as well as the development and management of process controls, will be critical to maintaining a well-managed process.

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior Technology leadership to develop well-managed documentation and reporting to support organizational needs and goals

  • Work with our Intelligent Foundations and Experience (IFX) partners, Cyber, Finance Business Risk Team, and Tech Risk Management team to proactively plan and communicate upcoming enterprise initiatives and monitor progress and impediments

  • Produce Risk, Cyber, and Enterprise Tech OKR metrics to provide transparency to senior leadership on overall Tech health

  • Support Risk Management activities by tracking and resolving process breakdowns, issues and risk events across Finance Tech product domains

  • Manage and monitor enterprise tools to ensure enterprise requirements are in compliance with policy and standards

  • Promote strategic vision and execute tactical operations to enhance the well-managed culture across Finance Tech

  • Interact with business counterparts and other Tech associates to ensure a comprehensive understanding of context on the purpose of the initiative or compliance control

  • Proactively engage team members and project leads to ensure system changes or enhancements consider Tech controls and Tech standards before implementation

  • Consult with internal clients to represent the team’s well managed processes and risk management priorities for new intent

  • Help drive collaboration and proactive thought leadership across team

  • Identify opportunities and work with business stakeholders and partners to embed well-managed practices into our daily operations and business processes across the organization

  • Utilize data analysis to conduct process improvements in helping drive efficiencies throughout the organization

  • Analyze data and influence others to proactively identify data risks and trends

  • Proactively monitor Finance Tech compliance, resiliency, and Identity Access Management metrics, developing the metrics that are measured and analyzed

  • Conduct periodic risk reviews with Tech leadership and support reporting for Tech risk metrics

  • Generate insights via metric pattern recognition to develop & influence horizontal Tech and Business process improvements, working with immediate team & stakeholders to implement improvements

  • Build successful relationships within Finance Tech, Finance, Cyber, Architecture, IFX and Enterprise Services risk offices and team members to understand the impact of technology risk on critical Tech platforms

  • Identify and implement continual Tech risk program enhancements based on industry standards and best practices in alignment with Capital One’s strategic risk direction

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in project, process, or risk management

  • At least 2 years of experience working with technical data management teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 4+ years of experience in project, process, or risk management

  • 2+ years of experience presenting to senior leadership

  • 1+ years of experience working with Product and Technology delivery teams

  • 2+ years of data analysis experience working with SQL or other data extraction tools
