We are providing an opportunity for a skilled Payroll Accountant to join our clients' team in the education sector! The role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, where you will be responsible for a variety of accounting and payroll tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and processing customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency

• Maintaining and updating customer credit records regularly

• Resolving customer inquiries related to payroll and accounting

• Monitoring customer accounts and initiating appropriate action when necessary

• Handling the processing and reconciliation of biweekly payroll for 101-500 employees

• Proficiently using Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions

• Managing and adjusting journal entries as part of general ledger maintenance

• Executing month-end journal entries and recalculations

• Ensuring all accounting functions and payroll processes adhere to industry standards and company policies.

• Utilizing state payroll software for efficient workflow management.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing payroll operations, preferably within the education sector.

• Proficient in accounting functions and general ledger management.

• Experience in managing a payroll size of 101 to 500 employees.

• Ability to process biweekly payroll efficiently and accurately.

• Skills in reconciling payroll to ensure all discrepancies are resolved.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, report generation, and payroll calculations.

• Experience in creating ledger journal entries, month-end journal entries, and adjusting journal entries.

• A solid understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with various departments.
