Ukrops Homestyle Foods Mixer - Bakery Manufacturing - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift in Richmond, Virginia
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Specialist Mixer – Bakery is a full-time position that performs a variety of duties associated with mixing and batching ingredients in a timely manner according to guidelines. Responsible for scaling and mixing all ingredients in a fast-paced work environment. We currently have first shift (4am - 12:30pm), second shift (12pm - 8:30pm), and 3rd shift (8pm - 4:30am) available.
Primary Responsibilities :
Learning all cake, pie, roll, and icing mixes
Producing quality mixes in a timely manner
Maintaining all sanitation and AIB policies with thorough daily cleaning of area
Fulfilling all paperwork and Cimpro responsibilities in a timely manner
Reading and following recipes in order to complete them accurately and efficiently
Properly handle product, use equipment and follow food safety practices in accordance with food safety guidelines
Ability to understand, read and execute daily production under minimal supervision
Mix or blend ingredients according to Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods recipes to produce quality food products
Check dough/mixture temperature for every batch to ensure quality
Ability to operate all scales, mixers, meters, and related mixing equipment
Perform setups and breakdowns for the mixing area
Load and unload ingredients in mixing bowl
Manage schedule by mixing dough efficiently and on time to maintain production flow
Maintain a clean and safe workspace
Retrieve boxes/bags of ingredients and replenish ingredient bins as needed
Ability to maintain food safety and production records to ensure compliance
Adhering to food safety guidelines to reduce the chance of contaminating foods by inspection of every product
Complying with all SQF, SSOP, and GMP guidelines and work rules
Notifying supervisor of all quality, food safety and potential product risks
Follow all departmental and production procedures, to include certification of batch tickets
Performing in a multi-task environment
Open to learn new procedures and job functions
Assisting in ensuring that the SQF system is in place and that we are in compliance with all aspects of HACCP plan, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant
Reporting all food safety issues to an immediate supervisor
Minimum Physical Requirements :
The position responsibilities frequently require:
Reading, comprehending, and following verbal and written instructions
Performing basic arithmetic to execute duties described above (measuring, follow recipes)
Understanding of the organization and providing immediate responses to customer inquiries
The physical demands of the position frequently include:
Standing and/or walking for a minimum of four hours
Repetitive bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting product weighing up to 50 pounds
exposure to extreme variations in temperature caused by equipment
Other Qualifications :
Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule (varying shift lengths and start times)
Having schedule flexibility (early mornings, long shifts, short shifts, etc.)
Must be a team player and self-motivated; ability to work in a team environment
Must be able to work posted schedule
Ability to effectively communicate with supervisor and coworkers
Must be knowledgeable in the principles of Sanitation and Food Safety
Education and Experience :
High School Diploma or GED required; Two to five years of food service or food manufacturing experience is preferred.
