Lab Technician - Chemistry

R&D Laboratory | Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to perform organic synthesis and analysis to support component development programs. The candidate will contribute to process development through interaction with the supervisor and perform industry-specific laboratory tests using established procedures. Additionally, the role includes developing test plans, conducting preliminary analysis, preparing reports, and maintaining laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform organic synthesis and analysis to support component development programs provided by the supervisor.

• Contribute to process development through interaction with the supervisor.

• Perform industry and company-specific laboratory tests using established procedures and assist in the development and modification of tests as needed.

• Develop plans for testing and/or additive blending.

• Complete preliminary analysis and interpretation of test results.

• Prepare reports, memos, presentations, and enter data into databases to communicate results to appropriate parties.

• Handle requests and report results within agreed-upon timelines.

• Operate specialized test equipment in accordance with established procedures and perform tests accurately to ensure reproducibility.

• Assume responsibilities for the maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and/or instrumentation necessary to perform laboratory tests.

• Purchase, maintain, and/or obtain an adequate inventory of samples and lab supplies for testing and work area.

• Maintain the work area in a neat, clean, and safe condition.

• Blend components and/or develop new or modify existing formulations to meet objectives and analyze various blends and base stocks to determine properties.

• Perform non-standardized laboratory procedures independently and/or with guidance from experienced personnel.

• Ensure complete and accurate documentation is maintained for all testing or quality-related activities.

• Participate in quality-related activities and maintain an up-to-date understanding of relevant standards.

Essential Skills

• Experience in organic synthesis.

• Knowledge of hazardous materials, including DMSO and Menthol.

• Experience with ISO standards, GMP, and analytical chemistry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a chemistry-related field

• Understanding of additive chemistry and the chemical nature of generic and specific component technology.

• Ability to conduct a range of organic synthesis reactions under the supervision of R&D Chemists.

• Experience in test development and execution of physical, chemical, and mechanical testing.

Work Environment

The position is based in an R&D Lab, with a work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
