Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to perform organic synthesis and analysis to support component development programs. The candidate will contribute to process development through interaction with the supervisor and perform industry-specific laboratory tests using established procedures. Additionally, the role includes developing test plans, conducting preliminary analysis, preparing reports, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Responsibilities
Perform organic synthesis and analysis to support component development programs provided by the supervisor.
Contribute to process development through interaction with the supervisor.
Perform industry and company-specific laboratory tests using established procedures and assist in the development and modification of tests as needed.
Develop plans for testing and/or additive blending.
Complete preliminary analysis and interpretation of test results.
Prepare reports, memos, presentations, and enter data into databases to communicate results to appropriate parties.
Handle requests and report results within agreed-upon timelines.
Operate specialized test equipment in accordance with established procedures and perform tests accurately to ensure reproducibility.
Assume responsibilities for the maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and/or instrumentation necessary to perform laboratory tests.
Purchase, maintain, and/or obtain an adequate inventory of samples and lab supplies for testing and work area.
Maintain the work area in a neat, clean, and safe condition.
Blend components and/or develop new or modify existing formulations to meet objectives and analyze various blends and base stocks to determine properties.
Perform non-standardized laboratory procedures independently and/or with guidance from experienced personnel.
Ensure complete and accurate documentation is maintained for all testing or quality-related activities.
Participate in quality-related activities and maintain an up-to-date understanding of relevant standards.
Essential Skills
Experience in organic synthesis.
Knowledge of hazardous materials, including DMSO and Menthol.
Experience with ISO standards, GMP, and analytical chemistry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a chemistry-related field
Understanding of additive chemistry and the chemical nature of generic and specific component technology.
Ability to conduct a range of organic synthesis reactions under the supervision of R&D Chemists.
Experience in test development and execution of physical, chemical, and mechanical testing.
Work Environment
The position is based in an R&D Lab, with a work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
