We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary
The Project Construction Organization’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our offshore Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) team. CVOW, the largest project of its kind in the United States, is a 2,6 GW wind farm located 27 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach consisting of 176 wind turbines generators, three 880 MW offshore substations, and all the associated high-voltage subsea cabling. There is one position available within the CVOW team which will be filled at the level commensurate with the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.
As part of the CVOW WTG team, the successful candidate will work closely with our project managers, engineers, internal and external stakeholders, and suppliers to support the design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of Dominion Energy’s offshore wind projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide technical support and advice to construction and procurement teams in regard to wind turbine electrical systems and equipment, construction schedule, project design, work plans, and troubleshooting
• Evaluate equipment proposals to ensure conformance with project specifications
• Contribute to the procurement strategy for the project in relation to electrical equipment selection, commercial evaluation, and technical risks/opportunities, with direct responsibility for the technical aspects
• Work with the wider Engineering team to ensure engineering requirements in the contracts are understood and incorporated into all design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning activities
• Lead electrical technical interface with internal and external stakeholders and equipment suppliers
• Work with other team members, suppliers and contractors to review project documentation (system design, engineering drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans, factory acceptance tests, etc.)
• Lead the RFI process with suppliers and contractors to support the initiation, tracking and resolution of technical queries
• Provide electrical interface support across various project packages (wind turbine generators, foundations, offshore substations, offshore cables, and onshore grid connection)
• Identify and implement resolutions to technical challenges relating to the wind turbine electrical systems and interfaces impacting project schedule and budget
• Participate in template and procedure development
• Adopts and develops lean processes that deliver project objectives and reduce waste within the project delivery teams and wider organization
• Site visits and assessment of Wind Turbine supply and other equipment
• Present design details though meetings, presentations, and design documentation
• Climb towers to facilitate construction and commissioning support and troubleshooting
• Leads-by-example with safety, compliance, and quality-oriented attitude
• Could act as the Owner Representative during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), First Article Inspections (FAI) and other similar activities in the manufacturing process of components for the projects.
• The successful candidate will be required to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
Engineer II: 3+ years of relevant engineering experience
Engineer III: 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience with wind turbine electrical system design, installation, and/or commissioning experience preferred
Experience with utility-scale energy systems
Experience with generator interconnection preferred
Knowledge of safety and quality processes related to wind turbine manufacture, installation, energization, commissioning, testing, and/or operation
Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule for key deliverables
Ability to influence decisions in order to deliver agreement on technical documentation
Commercial awareness and ability to identify the commercial impact of technical issues
Ability to gain the qualification to work at height (GWO)
The ability to work as part of a diverse, international team, (including leading on electrical matters), influencing decisions and reacting positively to challenges as the project evolves
REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA:
For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or
Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or
Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license
