Job Description Summary

The Associate Territory Manager will be responsible for supporting our government accounts team within BD’s UCC Federal Healthcare Markets by creating strategic account business plans, developing relationships, demonstration of products, and achieving key business metrics which include revenue growth and improved customer satisfaction. The position involves working closely with nursing leaders, physicians, supply chain, contracts, customer care, marketing, medical affairs, case managers, and other key decision makers and their patients as they transition from the hospital to the home.

This position will support the Mid-Atlantic Region including: Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, and North Carolina.

The Associate Territory Manager will be responsible for supporting our government accounts team within BD’s UCC Federal Healthcare Markets by creating strategic account business plans, developing relationships, demonstration of products, and achieving key business metrics which include revenue growth and improved customer satisfaction. The position involves working closely with nursing leaders, physicians, supply chain, contracts, customer care, marketing, medical affairs, case managers, and other key decision makers and their patients as they transition from the hospital to the home.

This position will support the Mid-Atlantic Region including: Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, and North Carolina.

About the role:

  • The Associate Territory Manager (ATM) provides field-level support to customers and potential new customers in the utilization of our acute urology products and clinical services.

  • Responsibilities may include calling on long term care facilities (LTACHs) to expand education on our BD urology portfolio while working and engaging with KDMs to maximize and uncover revenue opportunities.

  • Drive sales revenue to exceed established priorities and revenue targets within assigned accounts.

  • Utilize data analytics to find growth opportunities with current customers in GOVT PureWick (Uro Clinic, PCP, LTC, etc.).

  • Builds and maintains sustainable strategic business relationships in key accounts and influential urologists.

  • Develop and partner with local VA and VA SCI Spoke and hubs to drive urology portfolio sales.

  • Performs product demonstrations, customer education and in-service as required or requested.

  • Create monthly, quarterly, and annual plans designed to meet and exceed territory revenue targets at direction of the government team.

  • Develops and maintains a level of excellence in clinical knowledge within respective disease states.

  • Deliver excellence in territory management, account nurturing and selling acumen.

  • Control expenses within territory budgets and manage those resources per policy.

About you:

  • Required to live within territory.

  • Ability to travel 80%, including overnight travel.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued license driver’s license with 3 years of consecutive driving history and meet BD’s auto safety standards.

  • Must be able to meet and maintain customer/medical facility access requirements, including regular or periodic drug screenings with a satisfactory result in accordance with the requirements of the customer/medical facility serviced.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Strong information gathering ability, analysis, problem solving and independent thinking skills.

  • Individuals will exhibit strong clinical understanding, stay current on product, programs, and competitive knowledge.

  • Demonstrates a sound understanding of basic mathematical processes and has little difficulty in assimilating information of a numerical nature.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer with intermediate level of keyboarding skills, MS Excel, MS Word and BDs sales information systems.

  • This position works in a home office, hospital, HCP office, or clinical environment.

  • The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.

Experience:

  • One to three years of sales experience, medical device preferred.

  • Government/Military experience preferred.

  • Results driver, strong teammate and a self-starter.

  • Salesforce.com experience preferred.

Education and experience required:

  • BS/BA or 4 years of military experience required.

Certifications:

  • Ability to pass GOVT vendor credentialing/clearance.
