A day in the Life:
Chemists conduct a range of standard procedures for sample preparation and analysis to quantitatively assess pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds within various formulations and/or biological matrices for the purposes of stability and analytical testing. Each day they coordinate with the principal investigator to receive daily guidance and address any issues. Chemists then effectively organize their daily tasks based on assigned responsibilities. Each chemist is accountable for accurate documentation, review, and interpretation of data to ensure adherence to technical standards, quality requirements, and compliance with study protocols, methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs), client criteria, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Chemists perform thorough reviews of data generated by themselves and their colleagues to ensure accuracy and adherence to reporting requirements prior to submission to Quality Assurance (QA) and distribution to customers. They participate in required training sessions throughout the year, which cover standard procedures, regulatory guidelines, maintenance practices, and the theoretical principles of analytical instrumentation.

Ability to actively pursue and acquire knowledge for the critical evaluation of data to assist in troubleshooting efforts.

Education
Bachelor's degree (chemistry, biology, biochemistry, microbiology or similar life science degree) or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Experience
We are seeking a candidate with previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 1 years). In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge of applicable regulatory authority, compendia and ICH guidelines
Able to perform successfully under timelines while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
Excellent manual dexterity and handwritten documentation skills
Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team
Skilled in effectively communicating and interpreting information and ideas with diverse groups in a clear and professional manner.
Demonstrates the ability to critically evaluate information and effectively apply knowledge and resources in troubleshooting situations.
Proficient in conducting self-assessments to ensure the quality of work.
Able to learn and use standard office equipment, technology and programs with proficiency.

Chemists work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours
Fast, precise, and repetitive movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.

Personal protective Equipment (safety glasses, gloves, lab coat, etc) will be provided and are required as chemists work in an environment with potential exposure to hazardous elements including biological infectious agents and chemicals typically found in healthcare and laboratory environments.
