Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Richmond, Virginia
Description We are recruiting an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the automotive industry based in Richmond, Virginia. As an integral part of our team, your role will involve addressing vendor inquiries, managing invoice issues, and providing stellar customer service support. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Handle vendor inquiries and provide solutions to any issues encountered.
• Conduct research on invoice discrepancies and payment statuses, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate records of vendor profile data, transactions, and account balances.
• Take responsibility for setting up and maintaining vendors, recording payment cancellations, and correcting vouchers.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts against subsystems and record necessary journal entries.
• Participate in general ledger close activities and ensure accuracy in all accounting functions.
• Provide excellent customer service support to both internal and external customers, addressing issues related to vendor setup, terms, payment method options, and payment status.
• Assist in the resolution of any discrepancies that may arise in vendor accounts.
• Contribute ideas for process improvements and share knowledge with others to help stabilize new processes.
• Support special projects as needed, acting as a subject matter expert for business initiatives, and updating training manuals when necessary. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) systems and procedures
• Strong customer service skills to ensure positive relations with vendors
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and processing
• Knowledge of the automotive industry, including its financial and procurement practices
• Experience in processing invoices and payments in a timely manner
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues promptly
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred
• Familiarity with financial software and databases
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
