OakBend Medical Center Certified Nursing Assistant / Medical Assistant - Med/Surg - Full Time - Days in Richmond, Texas
Under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager and the direct supervision of the Licensed/Registered Nurse. The Certified Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant assists with patient care throughout nursing areas and is responsible for the safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, provides the services of an observer/sitter for any patient who requires constant observation in order to maximize his/her safety.
High school graduate or equivalent.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Experience in an accredited healthcare facility preferred.
Certification in the State of Texas as a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or graduate of nursing program awaiting boards. BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of basic clinical skills to deliver direct patient care to an individual or group of patients including, but not limited to, vital signs and activities of daily living. Accepts assigned responsibilities as an accountable member of the health care team. Proficient with data entry/computer skills for care documentation.
Includes working rotational shifts, holiday, and every other weekend. May be required to participate in "on call" basis staffing. Schedules and work shifts may be changed in respect to patient prodcedure demands and hospital census. During low census or low procedure volumes, staff may be required to rotate days off without pay or utilize skills within the hospital.
