6 Construction Laborers needed for temporary, full-time employment from 5/15/24 through 10/31/24. Work will be performed at various worksites in Richmond and throughout the Southwest Maine nonmetropolitan area, and in the following cities and towns: Auburn, Monmouth, Turner, Buxton, Cumberland, Durham, Falmouth, Freeport, Hollis, Kennebunk, Naples, New Gloucester, Portland, South Portland, and Yarmouth.

Job Duties: Under the direction of a supervisor, worker performs tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Load and unload building materials, machinery, or tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations. Operate hand and power tools such as air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. Maintain and tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment or to heat or move materials, such as asphalt. Dig trenches, backfill holes, and compact earth with walk behind compactor. Follows instructions from supervisors and implements construction plans for the day. Assist skilled tradespeople in their duties. Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site daily. May drive company truck/vehicle to transport work crew, materials and tools to/from or at job sites. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

No minimum education or experience required.

Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical with lift test.

Must be able to stand or walk for long periods.

Must be able to use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects.

Must be able to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects.

Must adhere to all company, state, and federal safety policies and procedures.

General knowledge of the tools, equipment, and safety is preferred.

Drivers license preferred but not required.

Applicant must complete an employment application.

Uniform pieces provided at no charge to the worker.

The employer will offer 40 hours of work per week, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Shift includes 1 hour unpaid break time. Work on Saturday may be required. Hours and shift time may vary depending on weather and business needs.

Basic wage rate: \$20.71 per hour. Employer may increase wage based on experience, market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at \$31.07 per hour.

Workers will be provided with on-the-job training to perform the duties assigned.

The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid weekly.

The employer will make all deductions from the worker\'s paycheck required by law.

Optional employee shared housing will be available. Employer will deduct for the reasonable fair market value cost of rent and utilities based on number of occupants for workers who elect to live in employer-offered housing. Voluntary pay deductions for the cost of housing and utilities to be pre-authorized in writing.

Optional daily transportation between employee housing and the main worksite in Richmond is available at approximately \$10 per week, deducted from paycheck if the worker elects.

The employer will pro ide daily transportation from the main worksite in Richmond to and from the worksite locations.

If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a workers voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least \$15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of \$59 per day with receipts. If necessary, employer will reimburse worker within first pay period for approved cost of meals and lodging at the applicable exchange rate, not to exceed reasonable costs. Receipts must be submitted.

The employer will reimburse H-2B workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
