Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Pay - $39.32

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to work hands-on in a plant environment, performing installation, repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on a variety of building electrical equipment, production machines, and HVAC systems. You will be responsible for ensuring all electrical systems and components are installed and maintained in accordance with local and National Electric codes.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical wiring and related equipment for all building and plant equipment per local and National Electric codes.

  • Troubleshoot and locate electrical problems in machines, equipment, controls, and electrical systems, including PLC's and VFD's (Fanuc, GE, Allen Bradley).

  • Design, construct, maintain, and repair electrical power systems.

  • Work with 4160, 480, 277/120 3 phase A/C - D/C controls, and SCR's.

  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and pump systems.

  • Work with diesel and natural gas generators.

  • Operate fork lifts (electric and propane).

  • Perform tests and calibrations using electrical and electronic test equipment.

  • Design, build, and maintain control panels.

  • Perform fabrication and assembly work with hand tools, combined with machine tool work.

  • Work from sketches, patterns, blueprints, and conceptual ideas.

  • Keep accurate records and maintain supplies and inventories.

  • Operate material handling equipment and keep the work area clean and orderly.

  • Train and assist others.

  • Follow safe work practices.

  • Perform other work as required.

Essential Skills

  • Certified Electrician with a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial applications, including high voltage applications.

  • Experience with industrial electrical systems and components, including AC/DC motor controls, PLC's, and VFD's.

  • Experience in the assembly, repair, and fabrication of production/process equipment.

  • Hands-on experience in a plant environment troubleshooting and repairing process equipment.

  • Willingness to attend technical training programs based on individual skills.

  • Ability to complete OSHA Incident Commander and First Responder training.

  • Proven ability to work safely and demonstrate attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and pump systems.

  • Familiarity with diesel and natural gas generators.

  • Ability to design, build, and maintain control panels.

  • Experience performing fabrication and assembly work with hand tools and machine tools.

  • Ability to work independently with limited or no supervision.

Work Environment

The work environment is based in Waterford, New York. Shifts available include 3rd shift (10p-6a) with training on 1st shift, and a rotating 2nd shift (2p-10p) Sunday-Thursday and Monday-Friday. The attire includes jeans and steel toe boots.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $81120.00 - $93600.00
