We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. In this role you will:
Ensure the on-time completion of production coating of aerospace and other coating orders by performing the following duties:
Write detailed production coating procedures including, but not limited to, workflows, unpacking/packing for shipment, loading/unloading, transport, cleaning, coating, witness test matrix plans, data analysis, and engineering reports.
Provide training to production coating staff.
Write engineering reports/presentations to be submitted to or presented to management and directly to customers.
Technical liaison to internal and external customers as needed for optic coating inquiries, readiness & program reviews; to peers for production coating operations; to program, project and account managers for regular communications of status, inquiries, quotes, priority setting, etc.
Perform failure analysis as needed
Other related duties as assigned
Education and Work Experience:
Requires a bachelor’s degree or higher education in Engineering or Physics.
Requires at least 5 years of manufacturing or similar experience.
Experience with electron-beam evaporation of metal and dielectric materials, design of metal mirrors and dielectric coatings, design of coat tooling, optical metrology a plus.
Experience with aerospace or military program contracts/orders a plus.
Experience with engineering procedures, report writing, quoting, and technical liaison to customers.
While professional experience would be a plus, Coherent will consider candidates with recent degrees.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
