We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team to support and enhance our delivered systems. The engineer will maintain software delivered to our Aeronautical Information Systems (AIS) customers, both civil and military, to meet their current AIS needs and to fulfill ICAO/Eurocontrol requirements. Successfully solving problems will involve hard work, a passion for quality, an inquisitive mind with the ability to work with the customer.
As a software engineer, you will have the opportunity to establish ownership and demonstrate your abilities in all phases of the software life-cycle, including:
Creating software solutions that are attractive to our customers and are cost-effective
Modifying code, testing, debugging and documenting high quality software applications
Participating in integration, acceptance testing, and deployment of software applications
Assisting in troubleshooting problems in a software production environment
Following established development processes and corporate technical and quality standards
A University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in the AIS domain is a big plus, but not required – a keen interest in learning about it is
The ability to work within a large organization and understand dependencies and stakeholder needs
Self-motivated, with ability to work under minimal supervision
The ability to work closely with customers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Technical requirements - some combination of:
Experience in software development, integration and test
Proficiency in different software languages including C and C++. Some experiece in Java would be advantageous.
Experience with web servers and email servers implementation
Experience with Perl, SQL, TCP/IP
Experience with HMI, MS Windows application development
Experience with HP Nonstop servers is a plus, but not required
Experience with database design, development and implementation
Knowledge of Aeronautical Information systems (e.g., NOTAM, Briefing, ATS Messages, Flight Planning)
Comments/Special Considerations :
The ability to obtain a security clearance is required for this position.
Willing to travel to customer sites
