Job Title: Production Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead and manage a team within our food manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will provide front-line leadership, ensure employee safety, maintain food quality, and comply with regulatory standards. This role involves managing employee work schedules, assigning duties, and resolving conflicts while facilitating training and development for team members. The position requires working closely with other supervisors and departments to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 22-60 team members.

• Provide front-line leadership to ensure employee safety, food quality, regulatory compliance, and employee engagement.

• Supervise and lead team members, ensuring adherence to safe work procedures and food safety standards.

• Conduct SOP and safety training for all production operators.

• Maintain a safe work environment for all employees.

• Ensure daily production practices align with government food safety regulations (GMPs).

• Manage employee work schedules and assign duties.

• Resolve employee conflicts and facilitate team development.

• Assist and support continuous improvement projects in plant operations.

• Work closely with internal and external departments.

• Prepare shift reports and ensure smooth communication between shifts.

• Oversee the setup and close down of production lines.

• Ensure raw materials and packaging are properly staged.

• Monitor equipment setup and address delays promptly.

• Ensure accurate collection of production records and data.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in food/beverage/pharmaceutical manufacturing with progressive responsibility.

• Intermediate competency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Flexibility to work different shifts (AM, PM, Weekdays, Weekends).

• Proven soft skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and flexibility.

• Strong English skills and the ability to promote safety practices.

• Reliable transportation

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bilingual in a second language (Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Tagalog, etc.) is an asset.

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in operations is preferred.

• First Aid Level 2 certification.

• Food Safe certifications.

Work Environment

Our food manufacturing facility is fast-paced with conveyors and machines always running. The temperature on the production floor and warehouse areas ranges from 8-10 degrees. The primary work location has 3 cooler rooms (0 degrees) and 2 freezer rooms (-18 degrees), with an additional small warehouse across the street. The dress code includes steel toe work boots, and no jewelry, nail polish, or fake eyelashes are allowed due to food safety standards. This is a nut-free facility to accommodate allergies.

Job Type & Location

This is a permanent position based out of Richmond, British Columbia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46
