As a Principal Core Design Engineer in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include: Creating cross sections of various fuel assembly lattice designs to support one of the many light water reactors that Framatome is the fuel vendor for. Designing new and shuffling old fuel assemblies in a pattern that leads to optimal energy requirements while maintaining safety parameters. Calculating neutronics parameters, providing inputs for downstream analyses, and documenting the analyzed results. Working with code developers to create new or revise existing codes and automation tools associated with core design. Working with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful customer delivery. Supporting first-of-a-kind core design studies to support new fuel product development or new customer requirements. This position requires occasional travel.
