Schedule M-F 6am-230pm Salary Range $19.10-$26.74 based on relevant experience. Summary: This position is responsible for assisting the pathologists, pathology assistants, histology, cytology and or molecular staff as needed to ensure proper workflow of the departments. Daily duties may include instrument maintenance/cleaning, quality assurance and data entry. This position may prepare specimens using specific technical equipment and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: Performs all duties as an LA I. Ability to perform support functions in the laboratory. Maintains equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed. Provide accurate and timely receiving and processing of specimens. Assist PA's, Histology, Cytology and Molecular departments as needed. Performs Sendouts. Maintains knowledge of current CAP requirements and State & Federal regulations Quality control data entry Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education/Certifications High school diploma or equivalentAssociates or bachelor's degree in laboratory science preferred Skills and Abilities Competency with computers and MS Office programs Ability to maintain accuracy, especially with numeric sequencing. Knowledge of medical terminology. Adhere to HIPAA patient confidentiality standards. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. Laboratory experience preferred. Ability to work independently and efficiently. Ability to pass a standardized color-blind test.
