Energy Northwest Janitor in Richland, Washington

GENERAL SUMMARY

Clean and sanitize Energy Northwest office facilities, restrooms, laboratories, computer areas, cafeterias, warehouses, and shop areas (including all Energy Northwest leased areas).

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work together each day in cooperation with your supervisor to ensure janitorial work is covered in all areas.

  • Clean and mop lavatories; replenish lavatory supplies as necessary.

  • Operate vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaning equipment and other equipment necessary to keep Energy Northwest buildings in a clean and orderly condition.

  • Empty trash containers. Empty cigarette receptacles at applicable Energy Northwest Office Complex (ENOC) facilities.

  • Sweep, mop, and wax floors; vacuum and clean carpets.

  • Clean up spills as necessary and other trouble conditions

  • Notify supervisor when problems arise (i.e., need to replenish supplies, equipment operating/repair problems, scheduling and access problems, etc.).

  • Work together each day in cooperation with your supervisor to ensure janitorial work is covered in all areas.

  • Dust window ledges, walls, furniture and equipment as necessary, unless covered by personal items or paper.

  • Wash windows.

  • Work together each day in cooperation with your supervisor to ensure janitorial work is covered in all areas.

  • Clean up after completion of maintenance work as required.

  • Perform other tasks as required. (i.e., assist in moving furniture, inventory chemicals within janitor control, etc.).

  • Cross train with other janitors in specific skill areas to help new or less experienced janitors understand the work.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or GED is required. Must have a reading level which allows proper selection and utilization of janitorial supplies such as chemicals, wax, solvents, etc., and the ability to read and understand the significance of danger or warning signs. Must have and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license. If required, must obtain and maintain unescorted access to the Protected Area and other areas as needed.

This position is open until closed.

This is a bargaining unit position and the hourly pay rate is:

$18.19

Incentive Compensation

This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
