Hanford Mission Integration Solutions Engineer (39108) in Richland, Washington

Job Duties/Scope Of Work This position will function as a qualified design authority and engineer in the Information Technology engineering group. Key work scope associated with this position involves engineering associated with the following elements: • Outdoor telecommunications infrastructure including copper/fiber cable, conduits, hand holes, and manholes. • Indoor telecommunications infrastructure including copper/fiber cable, racks, cabinets, and electronics. • Wireless transport system infrastructure, which includes point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, two-way radio, and emergency alerting systems. • Hanford local area network, both physical and logical, voice and data, and wireless and mobile network technologies. The successful candidate will (1) establish and maintain the engineering configuration management document baseline associated with the systems described above, (2) develop engineering design and change documentation, (3) develop other technical reports and engineering studies, and (4) work closely with customers and other stakeholders to understand the needs and requirements and will implement cost-effective technical solutions, leveraging best practices and best-of-breed technologies. . Basic Qualifications • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. • Applicants within 3 months of graduation may apply for consideration for a position that would be contingent on successfully completing their bachelor's degree (Engineering discipline) prior to starting work. •0-2 years related experience. *Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" Clearance. Any offer of employment is contingent on the applicant passing a background investigation. As part of the investigation, Federal investigators will examine many aspects of the applicant's past including, financial and criminal histories, mental and emotional health, education and travel, drug and alcohol usage, personal and organizational relationships, as well as other aspects of the applicant's background. Desired Qualifications • Up to 5 years related experience. • Familiarity with HMIS's engineering configuration management processes. • Familiarity with SharePoint, Integrated Document Management System (IDMS), Document Management Control System (DMCS). • Project Management/Coordination Skills. • Experience with Telecom, Radio, or IT systems design.
