Siemens Energy Electrical Engineer- II in Richland, Mississippi

A Snapshot of Your Day

The electrical design engineer will beresponsible for the design, development, and analysis of the voltage regulators,transformers, and its subcomponent assemblies. This will require the use ofproper engineering principles and practices to effectively complete therequired tasks. Additionally, this position will support R&D projects,manufacturing equipment improvements, and equipment modeling. This positionwill report directly to the Head of Engineering at the voltage regulatorfactory in Richland, MS.

How You’ll Make an Impact

· Electrical designof Voltage Regulators & transformers (Traction transformer preferred).Perform electrical calculations on the voltage regulator components(transformer winding, core, insulation, heat transfer etc.) to support productdesign and development.

· Use cutting-edge2D software to prepare engineering drawings and bills of material.

· Lead andcollaborate on R&D projects for further product improvements.

· Ideate innovativeconcepts to provide customer solutions.

· Assist themanufacturing team with equipment improvement projects.

· Support draftingtechnicians with drawing creation and revisions.

· Troubleshootissues when Engineering support is required.

· Effectivelycommunicate among multiple functional groups (sales/marketing, procurement,suppliers, manufacturing, Quality etc.) for the flawless execution of customerrequirements.

What You Bring

· Bachelor’s Degree,electrical engineering required. Master’s Degree preferred.

· 5+ years workingexperience as a design engineer (or related roles).

· Must have theKnowledge of the electrical transmission or distribution systems and IEEEstandards.

· Must have knowledgeof transformer design parameters and its significance in modifying oroptimizing the design structure

· Excellentunderstanding of Power System & application of transformer & VoltageRegulator required.

· Excellent verbaland written communication skills

· Self-motivated toproduce high quality results within the time allocated, with limitedsupervision.

· Proficiency withAutoCad, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to learnnew software.

· Strong Teamcollaboration effort

o Preference:

· Experience in thePower industry with voltage regulator/transformer products, low/medium/highvoltage products or electrical substations.

· Experience withSAP

· Strongunderstanding of design-to-cost and design-to-manufacturing principles
