Apples Fruit Farm LLC General Farmworker in Richfield, Pennsylvania

This is a Temporary Position. Dates of employment are 06/10/2024 - 03/31/2025.   • Applicants and referrals, not applying in person, will be sent an employment application and the employment disclosures required by law. Walk-in applicants whose pre-employment paperwork was completed at the time of hire must have a valid identity document when they report to work. No worker will be considered to have completed the hiring process, nor be permitted to start work, and/or occupy Company-provided housing, without completing an I-9 Form and presenting required documentation of identity and employment eligibility within the legally required time frames.

Basic Job Requirements (required):

  • Prune fruit trees using bypass pruners by standing on the ground and off of step ladders
  • If helping inside the packing house, employee will sort and box apples to be sold
  • May stand at bagging machine to bag apples or put bags of packed apples into boxes and stack on pallets
  • Harvesting peaches and pears as well

Physical Job Functions (required):

  • Lift 50 pounds
  • Exposure to extreme temperature and sun
  • Extensive pushing or pulling
  • Extensive sitting or walking
  • Frequent stooping or bending over
  • Repetitive movements

Job Duties (required):

  • June - Adjusting crop load of peaches and apples by hand, from the ground and on ladders.
  • July and August - Harvesting peaches, plums, and nectarines by hand. Sorting and packaging peaches by hand in the packing house. Also, finishing adjusting crop load of apples.
  • September and October - Harvesting apples and pea s by hand from the ground and on ladders. Sorting and packaging produce by hand inside the packing house.
  • November - Finishing harvest of apples. Continue to sort and package apples in the packing house.

Other information:

  • All referrals from State Workforce Agencies must be sent to the employer in writing by email and must include referral contact name, phone number, and email address if an email address is available. Contact hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 (noon) p.m.
  • Although the job holding office is not required to verify employment authorization documentation, Employer requests that the Employment Service staff apprise applicants that they will be required to provide documentary proof of work authorization to the Employer.
