Red Trail Energy LLC Utility Operator - Ethanol in RICHARDTON, North Dakota

Position Summary Utility operators are responsible for the operation of the plant to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, by monitoring plant process and equipment. Once trained, utility operators will work on a crew with a 12-hour rotating shift schedule three-four days a week; utility operators will also be on a relief system to help cover process operators and scheduling conflicts, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. The utility operator will also be required to assist in the maintenance and load-out departments. Principal Duties/Responsibilities I. Utility operators will work a 12-hour shift schedule. a. Ensure that process is operated in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.b. Communicate regularly with all process operators, both individually and as a group, to ensure consistent operation among the shifts. c. Follow all plant policies and procedures. d. Ensure that the plant is clean and organized. e. Help Maintain and update operating procedures and training manuals for process operations. II. Help Monitor and control plant operations. a. Work with plant DCS and PLC control systems. b. Responsible for taking daily logs on all plant equipment. c. Have basic computer skills and be familiar with windows based software. d. Field monitor equipment and help troubleshoot plant operation issues. e. Help with the Maintenance and upkeep of plant process areas and plant equipment. f. The operations group will also help with the grain handling / shipping and receiving areas of the plant. III. Participates in Quality Assurance program. a. Communicates directly with QA lab to ensure effective participation in the implementation of QA policies and procedures. b. Samples and test process streams as required by the QA program and procedures. c. Maintain QA records. d. Understand and interpret QA result and take appropriate action when required Minimum Requirements a. Computer skills: basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, Power Point b. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have expertise and proficiency with basic office software, e.g., word processing, email, and spreadsheets. c. Must have the ability to work effectively with computerized maintenance management system and instruct others on its operational knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. d. Effective oral and written communication skills. e. Ability to train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinates. f. Time management skills
