Raytheon Technologies Sr Production Engineer in Richardson, Texas

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Day to day production support for Thin-Film Coating operation, including working closely with other Thin-Film Engineers and technicians to resolve technical issues.

  • Training and support of Thin-Film Coating personnel.

  • Determine, track, and report on KPIs. Analyze manufacturing data and implement process improvements for Cost, Quality and Schedule performance.

  • Planning the sequence of operations for Thin-Film Coating and Test processes.

  • Development and implementation of optical metrology testing methods including spectrophotometry, interferometry, VASE photometry, absorption, Nomarski inspection, laser damage testing and SEM.

  • Analyze product failures to determine cause and recommend/implement corrective action.

  • Work collaboratively with Equipment Engineering to diagnose equipment failures and develop/implement systematic Process Control Parameters.

  • Lead or participate in the validation of Thin-Film Coating processes and equipment.

  • Design, development, and optimization of optical thin-film coatings, including simulation/modeling, product evaluation and characterization, and process optimization to meet requirements and specifications.

  • Provide estimate to quotes

  • Work closely with customers in the pre-quote phase to guide producible specifications

  • Assist in the development and improvement of optics cleaning processes.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Experience with the development of manufacturing processes and documentation.

  • Experience conducting process improvements and RCCAs.

  • Experience developing and tracking KPIs.

  • 5+ years minimum of experience in thin film coating processes, technologies, and production.

  • Experience with Thin-Film design software

  • Ability to interpret Engineering prints to determine test requirements.

  • Self-motivated, capable of organizing and completing own efforts and interfacing well with engineers and factory personnel.

  • Able to modify/extend working hours in response to business needs.

  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and other Microsoft products, especially in the collection, analysis, organization, processing, and presentation of data.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to work both independently, and as a team.

  • Must be a problem-solver, demonstrating strong commitment, dedication, and attention to details.

    Desired Experience/Skills:

  • Experience with design software, especially FTG Software’s Filmstar

  • Hands-on experience in thin film coating processes, substrate cleaning, and optics inspection

  • Experience with statistical process control, statistical software (preferably Minitab)

  • Experience with Design of Experiments

  • Familiar with Woollam Variable Angle Spectroscopic Ellipsometry

  • Familiar with Laser Damage testing

  • Experience with chemical vapor deposition

  • Excellent understanding of Thin-Film Coating testing methods including spectrophotometry, interferometry, VASE photometry, absorption, Nomarski inspection, laser damage testing and SEM .

    Required Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Thin-Film Coating

  • Preferred MS in Physics/ Optics with background in Thin-film coatings.

    Security Clearance:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

  • Candidates must have U.S. citizenship due to the ITAR-restricted nature of programs.

    Location/Travel: Position is located at the Raytheon facility in Richardson TX.
