Raytheon Technologies Senior Systems Engineer in Richardson, Texas
Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is seeking motivated System Engineers for classified programs. In this role, you will work with an amazing team of talented system and software engineers who are leading the industry in ground system solutions. These programs provide development, integration, operations and sustainment for next generation, cutting-edge satellite ground software.
Systems Engineers provide technical direction and clarification of requirements to software development teams & test personnel, perform system engineering analyses including trade studies, algorithm development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification. Systems Engineers support definition of operations concepts and procedure planning / development, interface with personnel from other organizations, and represent the program at technical interchange meetings. Systems Engineers also participate in daily program scrum meetings and provide status on assigned Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks.
Your responsibilities may include any or all the following:
Developing and maintaining Requirements, Algorithm Description Documents and User Manuals
Performing functional decomposition of requirements to meet system and domain level needs
Participating in system engineering artifact reviews
Conducting performance analyses, risk analyses, and trade studies
Defining external and internal interfaces
Managing and maintaining assigned documents in accordance with established systems engineering and configuration management procedures
Providing clarification of requirements to the software development team
Supporting the SEIT team in preparation and conduct of program reviews
Completing assigned tasks to meet program schedule milestones
Location:Aurora, CO, El Segundo, CA, State College, PA, Richardson, TX, or Sterling, VARelocation assistance available provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements
Security Clearance: An Active and In-Scope TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance. This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $12,000 for a candidate with an Active TS/SCI clearance that can be verified when hired at RI&S.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of systems engineering roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis/synthesis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation
Able to determine and develop approaches to solutions
Good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment
Good oral and written communication skills
Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Desired Skills:
Experience in Satellite Command/Control, Mission Management or Flight Dynamics domain
Development experience on a government contract
Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps development methods
Understanding of automation techniques
Experience with Matlab
Experience with Python or other scripting languages
Experience working with requirements in DOORS or other requirements database
Experience leading a diverse engineering team
Experience working in a multi-discipline environment
Education and Experience Requirements: 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (Typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics); OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree (Typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)

“In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $70,500 to $150,000; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.”
