Job Summary:

The requested candidate uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect arriving, in-process and completed products for conformance to engineering requirements. Ability to use for inspection and acceptance tasks, a variety of measuring devices, testing equipment, and statistical control process methodologies.

Reviews for acceptance and can perform First Article Inspections (FAI) per Net Inspect and conformity inspection requirements to AS9102.

What will you do:

  • Perform product and process audits for compliance to various standards and product requirements.

  • Support defining product acceptance equipment, inspection techniques and detailed plans.

  • First Article Inspection process and complete Frist Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.

  • Support root cause and corrective action activities.

  • Support development product Quality Control Plans.

  • Support hardware quality engineering with drawing reviews.

  • Support Mission Assurance requirements for an electronic assembly and integration area with high product mix where review and quality disposition of products is essential.

  • Have the ability to assure Special Test Equipment (STE) and tooling comply with approved assembly and tooling drawings, assembly instructions, test procedures and metrology requirements.

  • Act on all applicable material, product and equipment alerts to prevent impact to product reliability using the nonconformance and/or purge process.

  • Investigate dropped and damaged hardware processing and incident reporting.

    Qualifications you must have:

  • High School graduate and/or a GED equivalent OR AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.

  • Minimum of (10) years related technical engineering experience

  • Minimum of (5) years experience within one of the following disciplines: Quality inspection or Manufacturing environment

  • Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management systems

  • Experience with electronics manufacturing and assembly

  • Experience with customer interface for product acceptance and/or corrective action response

  • Previous experience delivering presentations and technical reports utilizing MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications we prefer:

  • Experience with project / program bid and proposal development

  • Thorough organizational, collaborative and communication skills

  • Experience with metrology, measurement resources and practices

  • Knowledge and inspection application of J-STD-001

  • Knowledge with the application of Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) (AS9145)

  • Practical experience of CORE/Six Sigma methodologies (e.g. Kaizen, Lean, Define/Measure/Analyze/Improve/Control (DMAIC), and Define/Measure/Analyze/Design/Verify (DMADV) ) and resources (e.g. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Capability Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) ).

  • Experience in aerospace-related manufacturing environment

  • Project Management Professional Certification

  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer Certification

The salary range for this role is 48,000 USD - 116,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
