What You Will Do

Raytheon, an RTX business, is looking for a Principal Systems Engineer, Operations Support professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise in software and systems infrastructure and integration. The Operations Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the management of the system/application architecture within the client space, lead the analysis of issues that directly affect the system architecture, and serve as a direct interface to operations personnel and support staff. To succeed in this role, you must have software development lifecycle experience using the Agile Best Practice methodologies and support off-hours call-ins to assist 24/7 operations. Satellite ground system Mission Management, signals data processing, and security infrastructure experience are preferred as well. The position is an onsite role in Richardson, T.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Prior experience in an application/system/cloud architect role

• Strong understanding of architecture design principles and governance

• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to decompose, document, and communicate architecture rationale, approach, design and governance

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience

• Experience with Signals data processing

• Ability to work independently and provide technical direction to team members

• Security/Infrastructure experience including troubleshooting

• Security+ Certification

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
