Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Richardson, Texas

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Credit Clerk in Richardson, Texas. This role is crucial to our accounting operations and will involve processing customer credit applications, maintaining accurate customer credit records, and handling other related tasks. The position is based on-site and may require overtime hours, particularly towards the end of the year.

Responsibilities:

• Process customer credit applications in a timely and accurate manner

• Maintain up-to-date and precise records of customer credit information

• Resolve customer credit inquiries as they arise

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate measures to collect overdue payments

• Handle daily operations such as Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)

• Manage ACH transactions and ensure timely payments

• Assist with minor HR duties as required

• Perform data entry tasks and manage card payments

• Learn and use MS Suite and PC Law accounting software for various tasks

• Handle other responsibilities as trained and directed by management.

The role does not require handling reconciliations or financials, and most duties will be related to Accounts Receivable, ACH credit, card payments, and data entry. The successful candidate will be organized and eager to grow with our company. While not required, intermediate skills in Excel, such as the ability to use pivot tables and VLOOKUP, would be beneficial. Requirements • Proficiency in account reconciliation procedures and techniques

• Experience handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with billing processes and procedures

• Proficient in data entry tasks with a keen eye for detail

• Experience with invoice processing and tracking

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets

• Knowledge of Oracle financial management software

• Experience using QuickBooks for accounting tasks

• Familiarity with SAP and its applications in accounting

• Experience or familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis

• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make sound decisions

• A team player with the ability to also work independently when needed

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred

• Relevant certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus but not necessary.
