Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Point of Care Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight and leadership for Point of Care Services throughout the Laboratory Service Line. In this role, the individual is responsible for utilizing knowledge and skills to ensure successful implementation of Point of Care testing, to provide assistance with daily operations and to ensure regulatory compliance. The Point of Care Coordinator must act as a leader by building collaborative relationships with the Clinical Care team, including physicians, nurses, and technical staff supporting the needs of clinical operations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology or equivalent.
Preferred/Optional: Coursework in Computer Science, Medical Informatics or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Minimum of four (4) years demonstrated Clinical Laboratory experience, including experience utilizing a Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
Preferred/Optional: Experience working with LIS connectivity or database management. Experience in leading training events.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional:
American Society for Clinical Pathology Certification or Eligible.
American Association for Clinical Chemistry Point of Care Testing Certification or Eligible
