The Big Picture

Howden Reciprocating and Centrifugal compressors (HCR), is a specialist supplier of tailor-made gas compression equipment to various industries. Our products have made a valuable difference for our clients for the past 100 years, and we are now looking for a Project Quality Engineer, who will join our Quality team and will support in making a valuable difference in the century to come. The Project Quality Engineer will an important contribution in meeting the customer quality requirements, plays a central role as the customer representative in the set-up and execution of the Quality-plan and delivers pro-active contributions to time, cost and quality improvements.

What needs to be done?

• Ensures that the Customer and mandatory Quality Requirements are correctly defined and implemented in the organization;

• Ensures that the projects proceed in accordance with the Quality requirement;

• The PQE is the interface between the customer and the Quality Organization in the company;

• Prepares order-related QCPs / IPs for specific projects based on customer specifications and HTC standards;

• Organizes and manages the project quality documentation for specific projects;

• Contributes to the improvement of the company’s QA/QC processes by analysis of the NCR and contribution to establishing DFMEA, PFMEA and Control Plans.

What do you need to bring?

• Bachelor’s degree within addition 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role;

• Technically skilled and/or interested;

• Basic knowledge of compressors;

• Basic knowledge of welding and NDE-testing is a bonus;

• Experience in Problem identification and solution methods: RCA, 8D, FMEA, Pareto analyses;

• Experience in Control Plan generation;

• Knowledge of QA and QC processes and tools;

• Risk Management and Statistical Process Control knowledge;

• Good communication skills and experience in communicating directly with customers, suppliers and 3rd parties;

• Ability to advise and implement improvement initiatives;

• Fluent English language skills, both verbal and in writing;

• A practical and pro-active personality with a team player mentality;

• A personality that shows a strong sense of ownership and a customer focus;

• Willingness to learn and develop with a continuous improvement mindset;

• Strong commitment to the QHSE aspects of our projects, someone who is constructive critical, assertive, well organized, questions the status quo but also provides alternatives;

• Occasional travel will be required to visit customers (up to max 10% of the time).
