Specifically, the Shipping and Inventory Clerk is responsible for all job activities required to support production processes. These activities include but are not limited to: assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including shipping and receiving, building pallets/crates and packaging materials for shipping, monitoring and maintaining inventory; preparing work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials (kitting). Other responsibilities: Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies Package, secure and load product Track and prepare documents for product while monitoring database activity for inventory Communicate effectively with vendors when necessary, both verbally and in writing. Maintains dock and storage facilities in an organized manner; receives, unpacks, and delivers goods; restocks items as necessary; labels shelves Maintains all necessary associated documentation to support shipping and inventory activity Follows all plant safety guidelines; practices and procedures. Must be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work area Properly use personal protective equipment when required Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements Supports all departments with inventory needs Perform other tasks as assigned Qualifications Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable. Blueprint reading knowledge preferred Must have basic computer skills (primarily Microsoft Excel) Must have basic measurement and math skills; must have knowledge of basic hand tools and measuring instruments Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available)
