ICF Senior Toxicologist, In-vivo Study Monitor Report Development Lead in Reston, Virginia

Description

To support ICF’s dynamic growth and expanding client base, we are seeking a Senior Toxicologist to work in our Health Science Portfolio. This group of 140+ science professionals provide toxicology, hazard assessment, epidemiology, risk assessment, exposure assessment, environmental modeling, and related support that addresses the full spectrum of potentially hazardous agents, including chemicals and microbes. We specialize in identifying and quantifying the effects of environmental pollutants, such as metals, pesticides, and volatile organic compounds, on human health and the environment.

The Senior Toxicologist’s project work would support federal agencies (such as U.S. EPA and NIEHS) in conducting and reporting the results of hazard studies and supporting risk assessments of environmental pollutants and microbes.

Location: This position is fully remote, US nation-wide or can by hybrid from one of our ICF office locations.

What you’ll do:

  • Toxicological report development, including writing the abstract, methods, and results sections; reviewing toxicological conclusions based on provided reports and results; and synthesizing findings into a weight-of-evidence analysis while abiding by preferred guidelines.

  • Project management and technical leadership activities on multiple reports and projects concurrently, involving toxicological data, systematic literature reviews, and risk assessment. Assist in defining project scope and objectives, and serve as the primary point of contact for clients and the internal project team.

  • Toxicology domain tasks including publications and guidance, presentations at conferences, and drafting proposal sections.

  • Toxicology systematic review tasks including literature screening, study quality evaluation, study data extraction, dose-response analysis, incorporation of NAMs and mechanistic data, and data synthesis as needed.

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior- to mid-level staff.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (i.e., toxicology, pharmacology, biology, or related subject)

  • 5+ years of relevant post-degree experience (or equivalent training), including experience in animal husbandry and/or in vivo study design conducted within the field of toxicology.

What we’d love :

  • Experience and familiarity with OECD and GLP Guidelines and design, conduct, and development of toxicological reports for definitive studies.

  • Experience with in vivo assessment of acute, subchronic, and chronic toxicological endpoints.

  • Experience as study director and/or study monitor for nonclinical or hazard identification studies.

  • Familiarity with data tracking system outputs (i.e., Provantis, TDMSE).

  • Ability to integrate data from other fields of research (e.g., chemistry, molecular pathology, clinical pathology) in written reports and communicate results within established timelines.

  • Strong quantitative skills and experience with dose-response analysis.

  • Experience with project management and staff leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute technical approaches to solving scientific questions.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$63,511.00 - $107,968.00
