Google Head of Industry and Solutions Architecture, Public Sector in Reston, Virginia

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in technical project management, stakeholder management, professional services, solution engineering or technical consulting, and 4 years of experience in technical leadership.

  • 3 years of experience in people management.

  • 2 years of experience writing code in one or more programming languages.

  • 1 year of experience in technical troubleshooting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience with contact center technologies and platforms and building conversational applications.

  • Experience serving in the capacity of a pre-sales, customer-facing field engineering manager.

  • Ability craft compelling messaging and to tailor it for a given audience. Ability to mix deep technical expertise with simple, everyday language to deliver a story that is memorable and useful.

As the Head of Industry and Solutions Architecture, your experience and thought leadership will lead Google Cloud sales and engineering teams to incubate, pilot, and deploy Google Cloud’s industry leading technology to Public Sector customers. Your team will consist of Practice Leads who are customer engineers with deep knowledge in their respective domain areas, ranging from Health and Human Services (HHS) to Labor to Research and other Public Sector verticals.

As part of your role, you will build a technical Generative AI team. You'll focus on identifying, evaluating, and developing GenAI and AI/ML applications, solving problems with industry-leading tools and methods. You will help customers leverage accelerators within their overall cloud strategy by helping run benchmarks for existing models, find opportunities to use accelerators for new models, develop migration paths, and help to analyze cost to performance. Along the way, you'll collaborate closely with internal Cloud AI teams to improve our offerings. You will also travel up to 30% of the time as required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000-$314,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Collaborate with Sales, Google Public Sector (GPS) Industry Executives, and GPS CE management to determine proper staffing levels to support business goals, establish job requisitions, and lead interview teams to fill open positions.

  • Organize, train, and equip the GPS Practice Leads and GenAI Field Solutions Architects. Assess the team’s go-to-market readiness, identify gaps in preparedness, and build plans to ensure the team is properly trained and equipped to successfully perform in support of annualized business goals.

  • Work with Google Cloud Sales team leadership to identify, qualify, and prioritize coverage for business opportunities. Participate in periodic opportunity review meetings providing insights to secure technical success.

  • Partner with the Sales Account team, customer support, product management, customer solutions, and engineering to resolve product problems affecting pre and post-sales customer satisfaction.
