IBM Storage Product Manager in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM has the broadest portfolio of storage solutions that allows our customers to unify, manage and protect data across Hybrid Cloud and AI environments using a simplified approach to containerization, management, and data protection.

We are looking for a highly skilled, highly motivated Senior Product Manager with in-depth knowledge of IBM Data Resilience portfolio to join our team. We offer you the chance to immerse yourself the next generation of IBM Data and Cyber Resilience data management platform leveraging the IBM Spectrum Protect and IBM Spectrum Fusion product portfolio.. You will be a part of a strong and dedicated team that delivers world-class solutions to protect, reuse, and manage data in today's hybrid cloud environments. This is a comprehensive role responsible for product strategy, solution delivery, go-to-market execution, and sales enablement throughout all stages of the offering lifecycle. Product Managers are business owners, responsible for setting cross-discipline priorities, leading multi-functional teams, and determining offering revenue models.

The successful candidate will take ownership of all offering management related activities, including close collaboration with development, leading cross organizational work streams, and working frequently with executive management on strategic initiatives. You will be the face of the product and will interact with customers, industry analysts, business partners, and Sales teams to determine client and market needs, identify areas for revenue growth, find ways to increase product differentiation, and drive key initiatives to improve IBM's position in the market.

You will lead product/feature definition, business case development, requirements prioritization, and discussions with design and development to create and deliver the product roadmap and develop the overall strategy to accelerate business growth. You will also work closely with Product Marketing to develop compelling messaging and content to lead the Go to Market message and enable a global sales force, channels, and the customer

be responsible for launching a new offering, IBM Spectrum Fusion Software Defined Software, bringing key capabilities together to address customer pain points when deploying cloud native architectures into the enterprise. IBM Spectrum Scale for the unstructured management capabilities, metadata management with IBM Spectrum Discover and data protection elements with IBM Spectrum Protect Plus, focusing on meeting the needs of cloud-native workloads.

As the Product Manager, they need to thrive in a fast paced, agile environment and have excellent spoken and written communication skills. You will own the product definition and roadmap direction end to end to ensure accelerated product adoption. These initiatives can involve driving cross-portfolio selling motion initiatives, working closely with the sales team on global sales programs, and other business/offering initiatives that evolve over time. A strong Product management background with a mix of technical skills and customer-facing experience are needed to hit the ground running.

Job Duties:

  • Define the product vision and strategy and build the offering roadmap to support it

  • Present the IBM Data Resilience vision, strategy, and roadmap to clients, partners, Sales teams, executives, and analysts, over web conferences and in person, showing passion and enthusiasm for the offering portfolio

  • Work with key stakeholders and a cross-functional team to define product requirements and manage new product releases, including all product launch deliverables

  • Assist Sales teams and business partners in situations when they need product management representation in client meetings

  • Prioritize product backlog and drive most critical customer and market requirements to delivery

  • Work with the design team to be sure the offerings we release are easily consumable and very simple to use

  • Develop and coordinate Go to Market and enablement assets for customers, Sales, and partners

  • Research and leverage the competition to be sure be understand what they are doing in the market

  • Research analyst presentations and reports to be sure we have a comprehensive view of the market from all angles

  • Work with industry analysts, partners, and customers to gather and validate market requirements, understand pain points, address RFEs, and evangelizing the product roadmap and vision

  • Manage the product requirements by responding to official requirement submissions (RFEs) and work with development for disposition and placement within the product backlog

SYSTEMSPROUD

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • BA/BS required

  • Experience with requirements management

  • Storage, storage software or related technology experience

  • Executive-level written and verbal communication skills

  • Cross-functional leadership, influence, and collaboration capabilities

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • MS/MBA preferred

  • Experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, or Technical Marketing

  • Understanding of OpenShift and Kubernetes market

  • Experience with IBM Cloud Paks

  • Experience with Public Clouds including IBM Cloud, Azure, AWS, and GCP
