How will you make an impact?

You will be focused on service delivery excellence for UnityTM Lab Services. Specific activities relative to the job function will include order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, metric reporting, stockroom services and material handling. Assist with additional site-based tasks related to inventory or scientific services as necessary.

What will you do?

  • Maintain consumable inventory for multiple stocking locations throughout the site by scanning stockrooms, assisting with back-order resolution, contacting vendors and interacting with the client.

  • Stockroom management, dispensing of product, and direct/coordination affiliated stockroom activities.

  • Perform on-site program replenishments and disbursements as required.

  • Perform on-site stockroom duties including receiving, disbursement, stock rotation, cycle counts, and other functions according to customer requirements.

  • Participate in individual or group projects that can include, cost savings analysis, learning groups, writing job training methods, and leading team meetings

  • Serve as a point of contact for any Inventory and consumable matters or concerns, including stock levels, procurement issues, invoice resolution and reports

  • Demonstrates proficiency at capturing, presenting and explaining job or site specific performance metrics

  • Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and improvements without the presence of site trainer and management team

  • Listens to customer concerns, optimally diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times

  • Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team

  • Adopts Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies

  • Access & apply Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Intranet and SharePoint document management system.

  • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations.

  • Attend required training sessions.

How will you get here?

  • Must possess a High School Diploma/GED

  • Associates/Bachelors preferred

  • Previous inventory experience strongly encouraged

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proven verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Minimum 2 years of dynamic confirmed experience preferred

  • Must maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics’ Four-I Values

  • Experience in laboratory setting or services preferred

  • Shown excellence in customer service

  • Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes team environment

  • Computer/software skills (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to instantly adapt to a flexible and changing schedule

  • Demonstrate a self motivation in completing work assignments.

  • Must be able to work overtime as required

Working Conditions:

  • Works primarily in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments.

  • Walking/standing may be required for up to 70% of the day

  • May pass through areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc)

  • Able to lift, push and pull 30-50 pounds as the need arises

  • Able to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks

  • Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, facemask and/or safety gloves
